肯亞要替所有犀牛植入晶片

肯亞境內盜獵犀牛的問題，愈來愈嚴重，肯亞當局準備建立犀牛的身份系統，幫每一頭犀牛都植入晶片。

肯亞境內現在估計有一千多頭犀牛，透過晶片追蹤，當局可以掌握每一頭犀牛的動向，追蹤到被盜獵的犀牛角，降低不法份子逍遙法外的機會。

象牙和犀牛角價值飛漲，吸引了許多盜獵者到非洲掏金，八月間，經常有警衛巡守的奈洛比國家公園，一頭白犀牛遭人射殺，這是六年來，園內首次發生這類案件。

犀牛角可以入藥，它的主要成份是角蛋白，和人的指甲相同。

肯亞為犀牛植入晶片的計畫，是世界野生動物基金會贊助，晶片與五具掃描儀預計花費一萬五千三百美元，全部由善款支應。
